Dynamo: a website worthy of a European research project
A research project in acoustics, photonics and imaging funded by Horizon Europe (EIC Pathfinder Open). For the Fundació Universitat Jaume I, ARTIC redesigned its website to communicate the research to scientists, partners, institutions and the general public.

Starting point
Cutting-edge research, a hard-to-read website
Services
Dynamo studies how to modulate light in space and time. Its previous website showed much of its information as images (counters, project fact sheet, social media), invisible to Google and screen readers, with content that was hard to find.
The challenge was to organise the project for very different audiences and meet the European Union’s mandatory communication requirements.
Action plan
Clear, accessible, well-ranked science
- 1
Reorganised content
Project, team and consortium (Universitat Jaume I, ICMAB-CSIC, CNRS…), Advisory Board, Associated Partners, results, papers, Summer School, news and intranet (WordPress web design).
- 2
From image to code
Counters, text blocks, the project fact sheet and social cards rebuilt in code: better SEO, better accessibility and lighter pages.
- 3
Interactive experience and animations
A page for the Dynamo Interactive Experience and laser-and-light animations matching the subject, which respect the reduced-motion setting.
- 4
SEO and EU compliance
Unique titles and meta descriptions, headings, canonicals, structured data and alt text; a link to CORDIS, the funding notice and EU and EIC logos (on-page SEO).
- Tools
- WordPress
- Elementor
- Yoast SEO
Results
A European project people can understand
The Dynamo website now explains the project to four different audiences, with real text instead of images and an interactive experience for anyone who wants to understand the physics.
It meets the EU and EIC communication requirements and links straight to the project’s CORDIS record.

What did ARTIC do for the Dynamo project?
It redesigned the website: reorganised the content, rebuilt in code everything that was an image, created the interactive experience page and applied SEO and the EU communication requirements.
Why turn images into text?
Because Google and screen readers cannot read text inside an image. In code, the information ranks, is accessible and weighs less.
Does ARTIC work with European projects?
Yes. With the Fundació Universitat Jaume I we have built several websites for European research and innovation projects.
Are the animations accessible?
Yes: they respect the user’s system-level reduced-motion preference.
